In the morning, we will start with a classic Italian breakfast followed by a breath of fresh air and a smooth yoga practice for awakening. In addition to daily yoga sessions, on each day there is an excursion....such as a formaggio (cheese) demonstration and tasting at the family’s dairy farm.
Nightly dinners in the rustic restaurant (Locanda di Pan) offer exquisite foods and delicious wines brought to you from local farmers.
The retreat is open to all levels of practice.
My mom was born in Panni, Foggia (Italy) and came to the US with the family in 1956. My grandmother (Nonna) went back to Panni during the summer months to visit her brothers and sisters. I was fortunate enough to accompany her as child and later as an adult and fell in love with Italy. I loved everything about it; the way of life, the way people dressed, the food (of course), the beauty, and most important the tranquility. Where else in the world does everyone stop what they are doing at 1:00 p.m. to go home to have lunch with their families and rest until 5:00 p.m.??
I spent my first summer in Panni when I was 9 years old. I made a few friends and we played “dolls” and “school” and I came back to the US speaking fluent Italian (well not exactly italian but my village’s dialect, “Pannese”). I still speak Pannese- which makes my Panni friends scream in laughter because I use words that only the old ladies use around the kitchen. As I went back summer after summer, I made more and more friends. Eventually, I felt like a member of the village, not a visitor. In 2007 I realized my dream, with the help of Nonna, and fixed up one of our abandoned family houses. Now I truly feel like “there is no place like home” when I open up my door at 58 Via Galileo Galilei, Panni, Foggia 71020 :-)
Poses in Panni will be different than any other yoga retreat. You will be in a remote italian village where you will live like an Italian for a week. You can extend your stay and do the “touristy Italy things” (the Vatican in Rome, the canals of Venice, shopping in Milan), but in Panni you won’t be a tourist, you will a member the village. I am inviting you to live like a villager incorporating the practice of yoga into daily activities. WE ARE NOW IN OUR FOURTH YEAR!
In 2005 at the age of 26, she quit her corporate job in Sydney, Australia and moved overseas to follow her calling to be a yoga teacher. Judes, is an international trained yoga teacher who has taught and travelled extensively around the world sharing her love of yoga to others. She has studied and received direct transmissions from Shiva Rea, Sarah Powers, Baron Baptiste, Sean Corne, Byran Kest, Joe Barnett, Thom Knowles and was blessed with the opportunity to meet with BKS Iyengar, when she lived in India. These are all teachers whom have left a positive imprint on her heart.

Amy first began yoga to become more flexible for sport, and to prevent injuries. Over time she noticed a huge benefit in posture and flexibility, yet also in mental clarity and peace.
Amy wanted a way to pass this to others, and went on to complete her 250hr training at the Yoga Space leeds, where she first fell in love with yoga.
Amy is currently completing her 500hr hour training in Dharma yoga, a beautiful practice she has found to deepen her own experience of yoga, and her teaching. She also completed a 30 hour advanced training with Dylan Werner, on alignment in postures. This along with her university background in Sports Biomechanics, helps her to understand alignment and the suitability of adjustments and modifications appropriate to each student.
Outside of yoga on the mat Amy still loves Olympic weightlifting and climbing and believes yoga practice to be such a complement and foundation to anything you choose to enjoy!
